An intensive training takes budding counsellors through the basics of crisis counselling and arms them with the knowledge required to support clients at the helpline. The multi-session training is spread across 7 to 10 days. It includes theoretical, practical, and technical knowledge of protocols for counselling individuals at risk for suicide and self-harm, along with other mental health issues like depression, anxiety, etc.
Counsellors are assigned a mentor who guide them. These highly skilled mentors review the cases dealt by the counsellors and provide feedback and live mentoring. These mentors also provide supervision and one to one discussion for additional support.
Mentors play key role in periodic evaluation of the counsellors as the counsellors progresses through the proficiency level.
Counsellors have the opportunity to support those in need during moments of crisis via chats and calls.
